Following the recent ‘big freeze’ I’m desperate to bid farewell to winter and welcome the warmer months. I crave clean, bright rooms flooded with light and fresh air. My mind is turning towards the coming spring and I find myself rearranging furniture, hanging lighter curtains and buying bright daffodils.
This year I’m feeling inspired after my trip to the Marks and Spencer Spring/Summer press event where I was lucky enough to preview their gorgeous new homeware collection.
The team at Marks and Spencer have created three design stories for this year’s collection, inspired directly by customer feedback. They’ve placed entertaining, well being, cooking and and living at the centre of their approach and have come up with three stunning ranges.
The first is Artisan Blues. The collection includes an assortment of gorgeous fabrics; think multi-weaves and plain textures alongside sumptuous velvets, statement rugs and crisp linens. The various shades of blue can be layered to create depth, and contrasting patterns are perfect for adding interest to your space.
Another gorgeous addition to the range is this stunning Hexagonal Shelf Mirror with its very own little shelf. Perfect for displaying flowers or creating a warm glow with tealights.
Living Greens forms another of the collections new to the store this year. It focuses on brightening your home with fresh botanical hues and is the ideal way to add a touch of spring to your interiors regardless of the weather. Bring your space bang up to date with succulents and ferns or make a statement with big, bold blooms.
This pretty bug print bedding that forms part of the range would be perfect for refreshing your sleeping environment. Teamed with light muslin curtains and fresh flowers it would create the perfect space for waking up feeling revitalised and ready to face the day.
Finally, the Simply Natural range is precisely what you need if you want to create a calm, relaxed feel. This range embraces subtle detail, natural materials and clean lines. Ideal for the warmer months when you want a sense of spaciousness in your home. I can just imagine sinking into this sofa with a book whilst listening to soft summer sounds drifting in from outside.
These hexagon lanterns also really caught my eye. Clustered together on a balmy evening they would give your summer barbecues a touch of real zen-like glamour.
There are so many beautiful new items available, all catered to a variety of tastes and all with something unique to offer. They definitely get the thumbs up from me and this will form my go-to collection for everything interiors related this summer.
