Have Yourself Amara Little Christmas: Making a Style Statement with Baubles

It’s just over a month until Christmas and my attention has turned towards making my home feel as cosy and welcoming as possible for the festive season.  This year, I’ve been thinking about how to use decorations differently so I’m delighted to have partnered with luxury lifestyle brand, Amara, to show you some alternative ways to make a style statement in your home.

Amara have introduced four beautiful ranges this year to help you create a sumptuous and welcoming atmosphere.  The Hideaway range is perfect if you like to include elements of nature in your Christmas decor. It’s all dusty blues, warm greys and green shades, which are ideal for creating a sense of calm among the chaos of the festive season and work brilliantly with the more traditional Christmas hues of red, gold and silver.

baublesIf, like me,  you’re a fan of the vintage look, the nkuku Snow Drop Baubles were made for you. Their simple elegance makes them incredibly versatile and they can be used to add a touch of old fashioned glamour to any part of your home.  Personally, I chose to use them as place settings on my dinner table. Rather than getting swallowed up in a sea of trinkets on the Christmas tree, displaying baubles this way ensures they really stand out and they also serve as the perfect additional gift for your guests.

I wrapped black napkins in gold twine with a sprig of holly to create a dramatic backdrop then added pretty name tags,  a shimmering metallic table runner and a crisp white tablecloth to create the perfect setting for showing off these antique-inspired decorations. Their crackled glass finish added an ice-like effect which was set off beautifully by the snowy garland I used as a centrepiece.

The Gisela Graham Gold Bird decorations are also ideal for adding a little sparkle.  I nestled them into the winter garland and, in addition to some fragrant pine cones and orange slices, they added a real pop of wow factor to my display.  These striking baubles form part of the Midnight Jewel range; a heady mix of opulence and indulgence which unashamedly embraces the lavish and ornate.

When dressing your table for Christmas, a dramatic centrepiece sets the scene and acts as a talking point for your guests.  Adding unexpected elements such as stylish baubles and foraged items gives your display a unique edge and distinguishes it from more traditional set-ups.

Another great way to display decorations is to hang them from your fireplace.  The nkuku Vintage Squirrel baubles are ideal for this as their mirrored surface catches the light and immediately draws the eye as you enter the room. I teamed them with the snowdrop baubles and together they created a beautiful focal point which left me wondering whether I really need a Christmas tree at all this year.

There are so many ways of displaying baubles to ensure they create maximum impact. You might want to pile them into a glass vase with fairy lights or perhaps you could fasten them onto a beautiful piece of ribbon and make some festive bunting. Another idea could be to use them as pretty gift tags on your presents.

Getting creative with your Christmas decor prevents your space from appearing stale and predictable and it’s a lot more fun than simply sticking some tinsel on the tree and cracking open the Baileys. Okay, we all know the Baileys is the best bit but with all these suggestions in place there’s really no excuse for the tinsel.

I hope this has been helpful in giving you some ideas for dressing your space this Christmas. For more inspiration head over to the Amara website and check out the range of beautiful decorations, ornaments and accessories on offer to see you through the festive season in style.
